Dental Care

Oral health is vital to overall well-being. A healthy mouth can help prevent serious medical conditions like heart disease and diabetes. That’s why we recommend routine dental checkups and professional cleanings.

Dental exams and cleanings are important for preventing and diagnosing oral health problems, such as tooth decay or gum disease. They also provide an opportunity to teach patients good brushing and flossing techniques.

Most dental insurance plans recommend a visit to the dentist at least twice per year for a checkup and teeth cleaning. During these visits, dental professionals typically take X-rays, apply sealants, in-office fluorides and give patients a lesson on proper hygiene.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are the most advanced form of tooth replacement available. They restore full chewing power and look and feel like your natural teeth. They are also designed to stimulate new bone growth in your jaw. This helps to keep the surrounding teeth and gums healthy. In addition, they offer more freedom than other restorative procedures, such as dentures.

During the planning phase, our dentist uses a CT scan and models to determine your exact placement of dental implants. We also discuss your desired result with you.

During surgery, our implant specialist inserts a titanium post into your jawbone. The jawbone then heals around the implant. The process can take 12 weeks. When healing is complete, you can return to your regular dental visits for routine care. During these visits, we will inspect your implants for any signs of damage or infection. Most patients do not experience any significant recovery pain. However, you may need to take over-the-counter pain medications or antibiotics as directed by your oral surgeon.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental procedure that makes teeth lighter and brighter, enhancing the smile. The process works by using a whitening product that contains bleach to remove surface and deep staining on the teeth. It is an effective and safe treatment for most patients. It has been shown to increase self-esteem and confidence.

The whitening gel used by your dentist is of a higher concentration than over-the-counter products, allowing for more dramatic and quicker lightening. It is typically applied to the teeth for 30 to 60 minutes each day, for up to four weeks of treatment.

However, it is important to understand that the whitening effect is not permanent. It will likely fade over time, especially if you continue to drink or smoke. The best way to maintain your new and improved smile is to minimize staining by avoiding foods and drinks that stain the teeth, including red wine, coffee, tea, soda, and deeply colored juices.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry includes any treatment that improves the look and appearance of your teeth. The goal is to enhance your smile through procedures such as dental bonding, tooth whitening and porcelain veneers. Cosmetic dentists can treat stains, chips, worn or misaligned teeth. They can also replace missing teeth with dental implants.

Many of the same treatments can be offered by general dentists, but cosmetic dentists are trained to offer more esthetic options. They often have additional training in areas like sculpting the enamel of your teeth or placing dental fillings that look more natural.

These dentists may also have additional skills that help them treat conditions with a greater degree of symmetry and harmony, such as jaw surgery or bone grafts. They can help you choose which cosmetic treatments are right for your smile goals, and they will help you understand what results to expect. They will also make sure that your treatment plan fits your budget.
